Cleveland Cascades Commission 2 Cascade Chutes in Santos, Brazil.

Cleveland Cascades commissioning Engineers have completed the commissioning of the second chute supplied as part of a 2 system order for customer ADM, located in Santos, Brazil.

The Cascade chutes, CC853 and CC862 are now both installed, commissioned and operating. The two systems are identical, both provided with a pivoting head chute and a total of 31 meters extended length. The chutes are designed to load Soy Beans, Soy Meal and Corn at rates of up to 2000 metric tonnes per hour.  Each of the chutes is installed onto a conveyor fed luffing, slewing and shuttling TMSA ship loader.

The Cascade Chutes are fitted with a complete configuration of electrical components designed to ensure safe operation and control. These components control the lowering and raising of the chute as well as providing the required signalling for any potential blockages. All of the functions feedback to the control system for the ship loader and have interlocks set with the conveyor system feeding the chute.

These chutes also have an interchangeable skirted outlet for typical loading and a trimming spoon with slewing function for topping off of vessel hatches. Images of the trimmer can be seen in the gallery below.

The chutes were supplied along with maintenance storage stands for safe and convenient access for maintenance tasks and spare parts changes. Images of the stands can also be seen in the gallery below.

The commissioning of the chutes has allowed for them to be set up in the most efficient way for long term loading of the three bulk materials and will ensure they are loading at the most effective rates for the conveyor feed.

The video below shows our CC862 Chute loading Soy Bean at 2,000 tonnes per hour.

The video below shows our CC853 Chute loading Corn at 200 tonnes per hour.
