Cleveland Cascades completes the refurbishment of a Shiploading Cascade Chute at Immingham, UK

When Phillips 66 needed to refurbish their 1100s ship loading chute, they turned to Cleveland Cascades Service Engineers to complete the job.

The chute was originally commissioned in 2006 and has been a cost effective and reliable investment, loading vessels with Petroleum Coke.

In order to maintain the chute’s operational efficiency and ensure it is safe to operate, Phillips 66 regularly seek Cleveland Cascade’s expertise, for preventative maintenance and periodical change-outs.

The work undertaken included a full “replace and fit” of new Hoist Ropes and Strops, which support the Cascade Chute.

The 1100s Cascade Chute is one of several on the Immingham Port complex. It is attached to a slewing ship loading conveyor and is able to discharge Petroleum Coke at 620t per hour with an extended length of 21m. The chute’s ability to effectively control dust emissions has been a major plus for the operator and for the local community housing nearby the site.
