Cascade Shiploader Commissioned at Koppers, UK

Throughout April, commissioning was carried out on a Cascade Shiploader that was supplied locally to Koppers in Middlesbrough, UK.

The Chute, at 19 metres in extended length, is used to load Pencil Pitch at rates of up to 300 tonnes per hour, loading 100,000 tonnes annually.

It also has the option of interchanging from a standard skirted outlet to a trimmer outlet when detailed loading is required to fill the hatch of the ships. The chute is yet to be operated using the trimmer, and this is expected on future vessels.

The product is deemed potentially explosive, and therefore all components inside the chute in contact with the material have been provided in compliance with Atex Zone 21 (Dust).
