Cleveland Cascades are to supply a Cascade Chute to Vancouver Port, Washington USA.

The cascade chute will be supplied to load Soda Ash up to 2,000 t/hr. The Shiploader will be a non-luffing, shuttling boom meaning that our Cascade System will be supplied with a fixed type head chute section for the interface with the ship loader.

Our cascade will be suspended from the fixed head chute and will extend up to 36.5m with an retracted length of 7.4m. The cascade movement will be controlled by a remote mounted drum winch that will be placed on the Shiploader boom.

The Headchute and cascade cone running faces will be lined with TIVAR 88 for abrasion resistance. The steelwork will be supplied painted to marine specification for corrosion protection.

Each of the cascade systems feature a suite of electrical components for safety and automation including; upper and lower travel limits, load monitoring, material detection and slack rope alarms.

The Cascade System will be supplied with our standard Flexible skirt outlet which is designed to create a seal with the material pile for dust suppression.

In addition to the skirt outlet, this system will be supplied with a hatch charger for loading through the vessel hatches during inclement weather.

The carrier outlet will feature a quick release collar to allow for swift changeover between the skirt and hatch charger outlets.
